Meat The Owner

Hi everyone!

If you haven’t stopped in the shop recently, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Erin Moeller, Owner and Operator of Beresford’s Butchers.

Growing up in Rogers, Ohio, I definitely have respect for hard work and even more respect for what makes a great steak. For the past 20 years I’ve worked in retail, working to make sure customers have the best experience possible. I worked at a pretty large company, climbing that corporate ladder and losing touch with the people that I loved. So how do you get back to doing what you love? Buy a butcher shop…obviously.

While I don’t have any personal masteries in butchery, I do have 39 years experience of being a meat eater. I absolutely love getting to know people and how they cook! When people come back to the shop to share their pictures with me, it makes me so excited to see what they’ve done with their meals. I also really love when someone tries something new and shares their experience.

One of the best pieces of advice I can give someone is… Building a great meal starts with quality ingredients. Let the piece call to you from the case. Some of the best meals are made from spontaneity and hope. Don’t let a case full of meat intimidate you. If you want to build a great meal go for it! Ask questions. Everyone at Beresford’s is rooting for you to hit a homerun with your meal. We love to give suggestions and we love when you show us what you made.

At Beresford’s we believe that everyone should have access to quality ingredients. Simplicity and accessibility. Ingredients should be easy to gather and affordable. Simple ingredients make loving meals, loving meals build a home. There is nothing more comforting than walking into a house that smells like something is cooking. And when people show up around your table you create a community of friends who take care of each other, which is, for me, the whole point of cooking.
